TheTechyX.Com ("we", "us") is an independent tech publication. We take the same position on your data that we take on sponsored posts: the less of it involved, the better. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version
- We never sell your personal information. To anyone. Ever.
- We don't run tracking pixels or ad-network profiling on TheTechyX.Com.
- You can read the entire site without giving us anything at all.
- The only thing we ask for is an email address, and only if you want the newsletter.
What TheTechyX.Com collects
- What you email us. There are no sign-up forms on this site. If you email us — to contact the desk or to join The Download — we hold your address and whatever you wrote, because that's how email works.
- Basic analytics. We may collect aggregated, anonymised stats — pages visited, referring site, broad browser and country data — to understand which articles were worth writing. This is not tied to you as an identifiable person.
- Local storage. We store one thing in your browser: your light/dark theme choice. It never leaves your device and it isn't a cookie we can read on our servers.
What we use it for
- Sending the newsletter you actually asked for (one click to unsubscribe).
- Replying to your message when you contact the desk.
- Understanding which coverage is useful, so we write more of it.
- Keeping the site up and free of abuse.
That's the complete list. We don't build advertising profiles, because TheTechyX.Com doesn't sell advertising against you.
Who else sees it
Only the service providers that make the site run — our email provider and our host — and only to the extent needed to provide that service. They act on our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes. If we ever add an analytics tool or a newsletter platform, this page changes first.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email hello@thetechysx.com — a person reads it, not a queue.
How long we keep it
Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe, and then removed. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with them. Aggregated analytics contain nothing that identifies you.
Children's privacy
TheTechyX.Com is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top — the same way we handle corrections on articles: dated, and in public.
